About Juno Ironcraft

Every great piece of metalwork starts with a simple concept: an idea sketched on a napkin, an architectural vision, or a practical need for something built to last. At Juno Ironcraft, we turn those concepts into durable works of architecture and art. But behind every custom gate, architectural railing, and precision laser-cut panel is a story of craftsmanship, dedication, and the people who helped bring this vision to life.

From Pharmacy Nights to the Welding Shop

My journey into metal fabrication didn't start in a traditional workshop. For 26 years, I built a career as a hospital and retail pharmacist in healthcare. In 2006, I was assigned to overnight shifts at the pharmacy. Once my tasks were finished and things were slow, I started reading.

I came across some books on metal fabrication and welding. I was instantly hooked by the craft—the way a craftsman has to manipulate different types of metal, overcoming its incredible strength through heat, leverage, and careful planning.

I bought my first oxy-acetylene torch and electric arc welder, set them up, and started experimenting as a hobbyist. I began making simple furniture and gifts like candlesticks, wine bottle holders, and window grills. By 2013, I decided to take a leap of faith, give the business a try, and see if I could make a career out of what I loved most.

The People Who Built Juno Ironcraft

No business is built alone, and I was fortunate to cross paths with incredible mentors, teachers, and friends who shaped Juno Ironcraft every step of the way.

Bob, a retired welder and pharmacy customer became my first mentor. Bob generously took the time to teach me the fundamentals of the trade and showed me how to TIG weld. He then introduced me to Fidel, who taught me how to MIG weld aluminum and advised me on the exact machine to buy for our very first big project together—a custom dump trailer.

As I tackled bigger projects, I met more great teachers along the way. Renato walked into my shop one day looking to get back into the trade. Renato became a brilliant teacher and a dear friend, showing me how to take on larger architectural railing jobs that fueled our growth.

Around 2018, I met Devon, who was interested in building BBQs and smokers. I taught him how to weld, and he worked side-by-side with me for several years before transitioning into the office, where he now handles our sales. Like me, Devon came from a completely different professional background—he was an attorney before finding his true passion in metalwork.

Joerg has been with me the longest of anyone on the team. I met Joerg during that very first year working with Fidel; he came into the shop looking for a friend and essentially never left. Despite facing physical disabilities, Joerg takes pride in his work and has been a big help setting up our powder coating operation. In 2021.

Monica joined the team in 2021, bringing extensive experience in website management, social media, and bookkeeping. Once Monica came on board, our growth as a company truly took off our personal partnership deepened when we got married in 2024.

The Breakthrough and Our Standards

That foundation of mentorship and teamwork carried us through our early milestones. My first major break came when a college friend brought me in to handle the entire metal package for a complete home remodel. We built a large stainless steel hood for his gourmet kitchen, crafted a modern stainless steel rod railing for his helical staircase, and replicated a designer modern chandelier.
